Problems with agriculture today

 


As I've been doing research, trying to figure out what are the issues nowadays with agriculture, and how these issues would affect our future. The number one issue going on with agriculture today is the ongoing trade war that is happening between the US and China. This leads to resource depletion, and costs of industrial agriculture being higher.

Another big issue that agriculture is facing nowadays and can affect our future is land management. The land is degrading due to climate change and global warming. This makes it harder for us to obtain some ailments or be able to proceed with agriculture at all. Contamination is another factor that's also involved here.

    Great blog post Michael. This is just another awful thing that we are creating for ourselves with climate change. This is definitely one of those issues that not a lot of people are not talking enough about. Being able to grow and harvest food is very important. If we lose the ability to do that it would be very detrimental. Overall great job.

    Since moving to Missouri I have learned more about farming. I used to think that farming was more natural and had less of an environmental effect. I never knew about pesticides and the environmental effects or the purpose of burning crops. I think that farming should be more sustainable and help the environment. I think a lot of demands for increased farming and using GMOs and other growth hormones with environmental effects is because of the high demand for food with increased population.

              As well as a lot of other people, I enjoy a nice relaxing day on the water. Some people decide to take a weeks worth of days on the water. Including a boat, food, and entertainment.   The worlds ocean fish stock is on the verge of collapsing. T he  International Union for Conservation of Nature , Jared Ferrie reports that the oceans have absorbed more than 93 percent of the heat generated by human activity since the 1970s, primarily through its large surface area, volume, and low albedo. Last year, the ocean was its warmest in 136 years of records. The increase in temperature has led to new toxic organisms and algae bloom that poison fish. Many specials are leaving their natural habitats in search of cooler areas. Since fish are leaving their natural habitat it causes a lot of problems for the fish in the habitat they move to. Food starts to dwindle down quicker that it should and the people that eat fish can search for fish in that area but cast find any if the fish leave.
