Bonobos

Bree Taylor

Bonobos are very closely related to humans. They share 98.7% of their DNA with humans. They happened to be just endangered for now thankfully. Their groups tend to be led by the females and are more peaceful. There is only about 10,000 to 50,000 of them left. They mainly are found in the Congo Basin in forest habitats. Civil Warfare in or near the areas they live have been greatly affecting their population. They are also losing their habitats and are currently being poached. https://www.worldwildlife.org/species/bonobo
