4 species threatened by extinction in the United States
With the population growing we are putting impacts on animals and plants due to high demand of products. The 4 species are all diverse in our geographic areas. Extinction is threatening animals from the oceans and all the way through our country. All species threatened by extinction are all directly cause by the rise in population. Losing habitats from pollution and even having problems keeping up with demands of hunting or fishing. With all this in mind here are the 10 species feeling the most impact.
1.) Florida Panther
The panther feels such a huge impact due to the population rise, with the rise the area left of where panthers once live is down to just 5% of what it originally started as.
2.) Atlantic Bluefin Tuna
Bluefin Tuna make up 15% of all animal proteins consumed by human beings, with that in mind the Tuna aren’t able to keep up with the demand and are decreasing in population.
3.) Longhead Sea Turtle
With half of the 7.5 billion people living 150 miles from a coast is causing the Longhead Sea Turtle to struggle in reproducing. With massive crowds among beaches, humans intrude and cause the Turtles to struggle to reproduce
4.) Sandplain Gerardia
With population growing this means more structures are going to be built, not mention natural problems such as drought, fires and changing storm patterns. Changed ecosystems across America have put a toll on species such as the Sandplain Gerardia which depend on grasslands and prairies.

I did not know that most of these animals were starting to go extinct, and they are struggling I think that it is so sad for the turtles, because they cannot reproduce since there are too many people at the beaches.
ReplyDeleteReally good post! These are good facts that you have stated, and I definitely didnt know about any of those. Its crazy to see the impact that we have on the nature.
ReplyDeleteIt’s unfortunate that animals can’t reproduce because humans get in the way. It is a bigger deal with some animals especially.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I didn't know that these animals were in danger. I wish that you did more explaining on what the Sandplain Gerardia was. It is sad that the turtles are having a hard time reproducing.
