Yangtze Finless Porpoise

 Bree Taylor

The Yangtze Finless Porpoise is a critically endangered species. They only live in freshwater rivers and lakes in the Yangtze River. Their closest cousin, the Baiji dolphin, went completely extinct in the year of 2006. Their is only about 1000-1800 of them left. They happen to be as intelligent as a gorilla. They happen to be about 6.2 feet as well. Overfishing is the main cause of this animal's food supply going down. Pollution and ship movement is also not helping their condition in the wild either.

  1. Sad if we lose these, too. For a cool advanced space-faring dolphin book, try Startide Rising. https://www.amazon.com/Startide-Rising-Uplift-Saga-Book/dp/055327418X
