Solar energy is energy that is converted into thermal or electrical energy. Not only is solar energy the cleanest type of energy, but it is the most abundant energy source available. Solar energy can be built at or near the point of use. The use of solar panels also store and produce energy even after the sun sets. There are pros and cons for the use of solar panels. The pros are they lower your electrical bill, improve the value of your home, reduce your carbon footprint and combat rising electricity costs. The cons are that they don't work for every roof type, buying panels can be expensive and low electricity costs= lower savings.

    I feel as though solar energy needs to be used a lot more in the future. The pros definitely outweigh the cons, but it may be harder to access for some due to the price. If the government placed incentives on switching, it may encourage more people. If everyone used solar energy, imagine how much better our environment would be.
