Problems with dams Aaron Hoffman

There are tons of dams all around the world but they are causing more bad than good.  We built a lot of dams before we knew about the effects it would cause on our ecosystem and rivers. Some problems they are creating are we choked the life out of rivers and that caused civilizations to struggle and there has been a decline of salmon, and some extinction of some snails and muscles. The intention people had while building these dams were good and it helped in some areas but they didn't know the full affects of it. We should try and use wind and solar for energy and not dams. Wind and solar are much better for the environment

  1. I like how you gave other options for energy rather than just saying we shouldn’t use dams for energy. I also like that you mentioned how dams have effected some species and have even caused extinction, this shows a problem and then a solution.

  2. Your attention grabber was what got me to read it. The picture looked pretty interesting. It's unfortunate that they are messing up rivers and endangering snails and muscles. All good things come with something bad.

  3. Great post! I had no idea that dams actually caused more harm than good. I guess I did not think about how these effect rivers and lakes and their ecosystems. This was very informative.
