Environmental Footprint of Fast Food

https://tripod.domains.trincoll.edu/opinion/the-threat-of-the-fast-food-industry-its-horrible-environmental-practices-are-wholly-unsustainable/

According to the article, fast food is one of the main reason factory farming is so widespread in our country. If you’ve read my previous blog on factory farming, you learned many reasons why. Fast food places require a lot of cheap animal products and they need them fast, so the production has to match the speed at which they need it. Not only does fast food contribute to the worsening of our environment, but it also contributes to the now 40% of Americans that are obese.

The only way that we can solve this is to try to cut our fast food consumption down. If the fast food industry isn’t making food as rapidly, there won’t be a need for the food as rapidly, meaning factory farming may begin to decrease.

  1. What is one of the biggest fast food chains that contributes to the footprint? How are we supposed to spread the word and make this less of a problem?

  2. I didn't know that that fast food could cause the environment. That is very interesting. Do you know which fast food chain is the one biggest that contributes to this issue?
