Blog #4, wins in conservation efforts from the past 10 years.
Conservation in the past 10 years has been on a rise and experiencing some wins for those efforts. The first thing I will write on is the ban on elephant ivory. The ban was put into effect with the high amounts of poaching, claiming roughly 35 thousand elephants a year. The next big win in the last year is the increase in population of tigers, from nearly 3,200 tigers in 2010 they have seen a steady increase over the recent years. Another big win is Earth for life initiatives which raised money to take action in protecting the Brazilian Amazon Forest, all the small wins will add up and eventually turn things around. If the people on earth keep doing a lot of different little projects this could be saving our planet in small steps.
