Organic Foods in Reality
Organic Foods in Reality
Most of the information that I have found came from the article listed below.
Ten to twenty years ago, organic foods weren't as big of a deal in human lifestyles as they are now. As culture and our communities lifestyles are changing, organic foods are making their way into all the supermarkets and grocery stores as a staple to most diets. This in reality though, is creating a hole in the production and restock of produce in those places.. For background knowledge, the word organic relates to the way the farmers grow and process the products they are growing. In the article I read I found that by farming these products benefits can be found. A few of these benefits include enhancement of water quality, and the reduce of pollution, etc. If and when picking out organic items, to see if an item is actually organic not just healthy, you can simply just check the label. Items you're buying can either have labels that show they are 100% organic, just organic, made with organic, or have organic ingredients. Typically when comparing organic to conventionally grown foods, there are more benefits health wise with organic. A few listed of these can include nutrients (moderate increase in organic), Omega-3 fatty acids (higher levels in organic), toxic metal (lower in organic), pesticide residue (lower levels in organic), and bacteria, which is the same risk in both. The most common and known downside to organic foods is the cost. This can be due to the farming practices, but the long term effects of organic foods on your health is something that is considerable for sure.

Good information. That label "organic" can be pretty tricky, but worth figuring out.

I like the article and information about organic foods. My mom has and I have used organic foods and drinks as much as we can. Yes, they can be more pricey than regular foods however, they are healthier.
