Coral Reefs Dying- Aaron Hoffman

Coral reefs are dying all around the world and coral reefs are very important to the animals and to us. Coral reefs help buffer shorelines from the effects of hurricanes. They offer some hope to finding a drug to treat cancer and other diseases. Warming waters, water pollution, and overfishing are the big killers to our coral reefs. How can we protect these plants? We can start by cleaning up our ocean and not dumping trash in it. Scientist are trying to get more marine protected areas. A marine protected area is basically like a park in the ocean. Limiting fishing and mining makes reefs healthier. If we all work together we can save the ocean and help save coral reefs, but we have to be willing to make a change.

  1. Great post Aaron. As you said coral reefs are very important, but they are very beautiful too. It a shame that most of these have gotten destroyed and I hope we can have some marine protected areas to help coral reefs grow back. Great job explaining everything and telling us how we can help this problem. Overall great job.

  2. Your blogger is pretty good. I do agree that we need to change and start to clean up our world. We shouldn't be dumping trash out. We need to start to protect the ocean or else the world will just be useless in a couple of centuries.

  3. I have read about this topic many times before and it is a really interesting topic. I agree that we as a society need to do more to protect theses beautiful coral reefs and try as hard as we can not to harm them or the sea creatures around the reef.
